Pictures were taken from the north bank of the river Lek, somewhere between the places Nieuwegein and Schoonhoven.
The river Lek is a branch of the Rhine which has its origin in Switzerland, runs through Germany and enters the Netherlands at Lobith.
Here, at Lobith, the Rhine splits into three smaller rivers: the Waal, the IJssel and the Nederrijn and the Lek is actually a branch of the latter.
The pictures show you typical Dutch sceneries: quiet in winter and more crowded in summer.
In summer, people are especially drawn to the water and the small beaches for aquatic sports and other outdoor activities.
Enjoy pictures of the beautiful Lek river.
